Breakfast at Ducks Cafe in Portesham, which also boasts a well stocked shop full of all sorts of tempting food and drink items, then drove to Corfe Castle and village. Paid £3.50 for parking only to discover the free (for National Trust members) car park when we had walked half way to the castle. The castle is what you might call a doer upper, but then how would you look after 1,000 years. What it did offer was spectacular views over the surrounding countryside.
Two scoop ice creams in the village (I had an odd combination of mint choc and salted caramel, whereas my partner in crime had the perfectly natural pairing of raspberry pavlova with salted caramel).
Drove to Swanage for a couple of hours to stock up on provisions - nothing much to report there, apart from me cheerfully stating that the young lady in the cafe must be pleased to get rid of the last customers (us) as it was 5PM, only to be told she had another three hours to work
