Dorset Diaries - Part 5

14th June 2018

Spent the day in Poole, walking round the quayside and old town, and discovered that Poole Pottery isn’t what it used to be. Seeing some of the impressive boats resulted in us briefly discussing the possibility of a life on the ocean waves, until we saw some posters of craft for sale and realised we didn’t have the bank balance to match. Decided that the occasional excursion to sea when on holiday was probably as far as we would get with a sea-faring life. Shared wild boar pate & toast, and crab and crayfish in a brioche bun with chips at The Old Customs House by the quayside for lunch. Stopped at Sainsbury’s to pick up a picnic on the way back to camp which we enjoyed with a bottle of wine in the evening sunshine.
